Russian version of the report

This report is currently available in Russian language only. However, we can provide an English version of the report within 3 weeks after receiving a payment.

Tantalum refers to strategic materials, so the bulk of information concerning the metal in CIS countries is classified as yet. Published data are poor and, to some extent, contradictory. In this connection, this report is based, to a significant degree, on the estimations of InfoMine’s experts and specialists in the field of high-melting rare metals.

The report is devoted to the research of current standing of market of tantalum in CIS countries and forecast of its development. The Report is composed of 9 Sections, contains 90 Pages, including 24 Figures and 36 Tables. The report is a desk study. As information sources, we used data of Russian Federal Statistic Service, CIS Inter-State Statistic Committee, Russian Federal Customs Service, Russian official domestic railage statistics, sectoral and regional print press, annual and quarterly reports of companies, as well as web-sites of company-producers and consumers of tantalum.

The first Section of the report presents brief characteristics of world market of tantalum resources base, production, consumption and prices on tantalum products.

The second Section describes in details mineral resources base of tantalum in the CIS and its prospects on development of new deposits.

The third Section presents data on reserves and mining (production) of tantalum in CIS countries in 1999-2008

The fourth Section describes current standing of main company-producers of tantalum concentrate in CIS countries.

The fifth Section of the report is devoted to production of tantalum products in CIS countries in 1997-2008. The Section presents data on the production, requirements, imposed on quality and processes of obtaining tantalum metal and other kinds of tantalum products.

The sixth Section presents current standing of main company-producers of tantalum products in CIS countries.

The seventh Section is devoted to export-import operations in tantalum-niobium ores and concentrates, potassium fluoro-tantalate, tantalum pentoxide, carbide of tantalum, tantalum metal, its products and scraps in CIS countries.

The eighth Section presents data on export-import prices on tantalum-containing products in 1997-2008.

The ninth Section describes consumption of tantalum in Russia, as well as presents description of main enterprise-consumers and gives forecast of consumption of tantalum in Russia up to 2015.

Appendix presents addresses and contact information on enterprises, producing tantalum products.
